What would I do if I had one more opportunity to reinvent what I do?
I would grab it by the horns and wrestle it to the ground. I would run across hot coals and swim the deepest channel. I would drop everything and grab the new rope. I would gather all the paints, gather the canvases, lay out the drop cloths, and get to painting. I would expend everything if I had one more opportunity. I would reinvest it all and do my best to hang onto nothing.
Why? Because if life has taught anything, it’s this: “Going all in” is what this life is all about. Retirement is the time to push all in, not take all out.
Does one ever actually run out of opportunities to reinvent what one does?
And here’s the thing, it’s convincing that if we have awakened to a new day, then there is (at least) one more opportunity to reinvent. So, what are we waiting for? Let’s get started.
